As I come from a mix background of Art (painting) and Business, and my curious love for cinema, set design was the only way to answer all my crazy film craft questions. And now completing my education in this field I feel much more confident and excited about my future in this fast paced, creative industry. While studying on this course I have exponentially developed all the skills required by me to be exercised while working on any opportunity I get. My expertise includes Model-making, Auto-Cad & hand draughting, Sketch-Up, Design research and development & Adobe Suite. Production design or as I call it World Building is one such way, I love conveying my stories to rest of the world.

While volunteering on this short film, my role included location surveying, design development, prop buying and a bit of graphics. This being my first experience in the British film industry although a small part however, I got to learn quite a bit and it was altogether a great experience.

This one project was something I enjoyed working on a lot, as we were a really small team under an independent production house, we all got a lot of opportunities and had to make calls that would affect the film overall and this was an amazing learning in itself. I personally got to do a lot of Set designing and seeing those designs come to life was one great feeling. Other than that, I also designed the graphics for the film.

Schadenfreude – Dir by Douglas Gray
While student films are known for their low quality of visual appearance because of the budgets, this film in particular taught me how to work under a budget but also make the sets and set dressing look good. As I was the only one in the Art Department, I had to do everything, from the designing to construction to the props buying and the set dressing. It was one of the most challenging projects for me in my second year of university.
