As a child, I attended a First Nations day-care in Canada, where it was cultural value to engage in art every day. I believe this instilled my love for creating, and I’ve always enjoyed being an instrumental role in storytelling. Therefore, when I discovered the Art Department, during A-level work experience on a BBC TV series, I knew that’s where I wanted to be.
This course has thrown me into the many roles of set design, and adapting to an online world has made me particularly skilled in design software. I find myself enthralled in my work, whatever the project, but my favourite part is always creating the visuals, as I get to exercise my love for drawing, but also, through implementing those small details, it’s when I get to see my research and work come to life.
On work experience, I’ve found myself comfortable in leadership roles, discovered a knack for problem solving and thrive under pressure. I appreciate the sense of community off / on set and like to have fun and help with the crew, where I can.
I’m now eager and ready to develop my skills and continue to learn from professionals in the field.
